I'm thinking about listing my home with redfin.
I love their app and technology!

But they told me my house will not appear on Zillow and that's seems like a deal breaker to me.

What do you think? Do you advice redfin?

Thanks

  • Any listing goes to MLS, which is pretty much the same across every agent.
Zillow sucks if it doesn't show it, not your fault.

I'd use redfin. Used them for purchasing.

Listing with Redfin is quite an easy choice. 1% listing fee full service is a good deal as Redfin is in the stage of grabbing the listing share. It is not questionable Zillow has more traffic, kudos to engineers in Zillow. What Redfin has is the attention to very serious home buyers, think Amazon vs Google. (OP you should judge yourself if you use Zillow more to browse listing). Last, go check out some Redfin listings, they look very professional.

    • This is fun to talk to someone from Redfin. So why do you prevent your customers from getting exposure to potential buyers on Zillow? We can have a pissing contest on which website looks better but the right thing to do as an agent is to market the listing to all major consumer channels. You are doing a disservice to homeowners listing with you as they may miss out on potential buyers on the most trafficked website....

In a hot market, homes really sell themselves. You save 2% of sale price, which can be pretty significant. I had a very good experience listing with Redfin.

How much are you saving ? If not significant go with agent. A good agent makes a difference

    • Doing many deals -- definitely. Anything in the business world is better when you're in sync.

Your one deal in ten years... Unlikely.

      That’s certainly one POV.

However, I did not start out doing several deals, and my experience has been very different.

      Cheers

  • I work for Keller Williams (tech not an agent). Our tech isn’t as good *yet*, but our agents are way better and anyone party to a transaction that involves a KW agent get access to a Zero Plus loan. Literally free, no transaction, origination or processing cost, $1k back at closing. So when listing with a KW agent, buyers can get that deal as a result and it’s a huge traffic driver.

Just wanted to add I had a very positive experience with Keller Williams agents on both the east and west coasts. The app had some bugs (I actually wrote some up for my agent, heh), but I still use it to keep an eye on the values of homes selling in my neighborhood. Thumbs up from this random Blind weirdo :)

    • Selling a home with a local agent has the benefit of marketing your home to other agents and buyers in the area. Good agents can help to drive up demand and help you to get the highest price.
