After tax rebates and without autopilot, it comes to around $36000. I have a daily commute of 25 miles.

  • The better question is will Tesla be around for the term of your loan or lease. Doubtful. $900 million bond payment due in March. Interest rates on the rise, especially for speculative (junk) debt. Debt load increasing faster than sales revenue. Bankruptcy secured.

      Okay... just test drove the P100 D once so don’t know about materials etc. but the acceleration and speed was top notch. I mean I have to buy a sports to car to rival with Model S.

    • I think it’s apples and oranges comparison. Tesla is in a universe of its own. Not sure it’s comparable to a 911 or comparably priced hydrocarbon fueled sports car.

    I'm also considering a new car and decided against Tesla. The progress they've made for electric vehicles is very important, but you can get a pretty nice gas/hybrid car with good MPG for 10k less.

    Certified Pre-owned 2014 Tesla Model S are also selling for around $36000 with free supercharging and autopilot. Much bigger and comfortable car IMO.

      @T-Mobile Some 2014 model S have autopilot. All model S from 2015 onwards have autopilot capability.

      @GoodRx Those pre-owned model S on Tesla’s own website will get an inspection and a 2 year warranty. Definitely not as-is.

    • Would love a Tesla engineer to weigh in, but as I know it the hardware is not at parity with what is in today’s cars. They have gone through iterations in production vehicles.
