Hi all,

I've been accepted for a HR role in Sacramento, California with Amazon. I live in FL at the moment and am supposed to move there and start working May 11. My original plan was to head out there April 14 to look for apartments and get set up. I'm trying to prep for this big move across the country, but I am seriously wondering if my job will begin on time. I haven't yet been contacted by the background check company, or the drug test company. My moving company also hasn't contacted me yet. All of these things need to be in motion prior to me beginning.

I emailed my recruiter, but of course she's impossible to get a hold of. Does anyone have any insight on any of this? I'm now wondering if my Moving company, Graebel, is even still up and running. There is so much unknown right now, and any insider knowlege, or even any guesses would help ease my mind.

Thanks so much, Blind. #covid-19 #coronavirus #newhires #amazon

Recruiters will no email you back until and unless you are close to the joining. Do not leave you current job. Plus why would you want to move that early?

I'd be getting there April 18. I'll be driving there. I want to get up there early to find decent housing. I'm pretty picky about that stuff, but I may have to settle with whatever I can find.

Why don’t you wait to move after you hear about wfh extension? It could be that Amazon extends through end of May and that would at least give you more time to figure out move. If you start during WFH then you can do that from Florida

I have no idea if my job is doable from home. I don't know if that even applies to me. I haven't even had training yet.
