Interviewing with Two Sigma for an EM role. Does anyone know how large team sizes are, coding percentage, WLB, and TC?

Just finished onsite at FB for M1 and also interviewing for Google EM and wanted to see if Two Sigma is competitive.

  • TS is far better for SWEs than EMs. If you intend to continue growing as a manager, you'll have a much easier time doing so at FB/Google. But the initial TC might be more at TS.

Interesting. Is it mainly because you think growth as EM is hard at TS because the firm is smaller? Or is there anything else why you think it’s better to be an SWE instead of a EM at TS? That’s a super helpful comment though!

    • The firm is smaller, the higher rungs of the management ladder are all occupied/ossified, and the firm doesn't do a good job of training/growing EMs. Many people get to the M1 equivalent (TS L5) and then either stagnate forever or leave for FB/Google.

  • Is EM L4 or L5? I'd assume L5 given YoE. Levels has decently accurate distributions for TC. From what I've seen, there isn't much more additional upside (unless you somehow motivate your subteam to save/make the company a few million dollars), and you might see more potential upside with big tech stock appreciation .
