A fully loaded non-luxury car or a base model luxury car?

At the price range of around 45K, I can get a fully loaded non-luxury SUV that includes stuff like 360 degree camera, HUD and larger screen or a base model luxury SUV that includes none of above but has better build and ride quality. Which one should I choose?

Buying a car for the logo on front is a fools game. Get the one you enjoy driving the most.

If it also happens to be the one with the sexy logo, all the better. But buying something because it reflects status is the stupidest part of auto buying.

I compared fully loaded Nissan Rogue with base BMW X5 and Fully loaded Nissan Rogue was way better than X5 and 20K cheaper. Went Rogue

    • Only issue here would be looking into minor details such a suspension and ride quality.

If you have drive multiple cars on a daily basis you learn to appreciate the difference between ride quality. It's not worth 20k but then again there are so many things to consider when buying a car.

Good choice on Nissan here!! The only thing i don't like about the nissan we own is that the engine ages super fast even after being on oil change schedule. Maybe it's just our car.

    • Rogue Platinum tops off with a 201hp 1.5 liter 3 cylinder and X5 top end does come with a 525hp V8 along with air suspension & other features as options.

So called luxury car without underlying power nor ride quality is just meh!

Nissan and BMW are not equals - both caters to different set of customers.

Ride quality and driving feel is very different between luxury brands and non-luxury brands. I don't care about fluff like extra screens but I do care about driving/ride feel, so I'd pick the luxury car for the same price.
