I just finished my loop at Amazon and they told me that I did not get the role. However, they mentioned that they would try to find me another role at Amazon. They mentioned that I did raise the bar and did exceptionally well. Are they actually going to find another team for me or is this just a nice way of saying no?

    It sounds like you passed the loop but the role was filled. Now you put on the side to fill any position at Amazon as an “interviewed” candidate. Basically team matching. So no I think you did clear the interview.

    When did you have the loop? I had mine Thursday and debrief is today. And I will hear late today/tomorrow from recruiter she said

      I had my loop last Thursday. They said debrief within 48 hours and no response yet. Cause for concern?

    Am in a similar position, went through loop interviews for a CSE role in one profile. Got feedback that the team really liked me, but thought my tech knowledge in the domain I applied for might not be strong enough. But, they thought I might be a good fit for a different CSE profile. After the call from the recruiter, I thought I would just need to do 1 phone screen for the other profile, but now it seems like I will have to re-do the loop for this other profile. Waiting to confirm the second loop interview now. So we’ll see. I’m wondering tho if I now need to come up with all new examples for behavioral questions? I know you’re not supposed to reuse answers but not sure if the data from the first loop will be used or not

      I hope not as coming up with another 10-15 examples would be extremely difficult.

      For real! I used all my best material in round 1 too. I asked my recruiter “if it is a best practice to avoid using any stories from previous rounds” but haven’t heard anything back

  • Same boat, after 2 loop did not end up in a team. Recruiter said there is no cool down period since I raised the bar and can apply to other roles but looks like no one is interested.

    I interview folks for Associate Professional Services roles, sometimes recruiting asks if the candidate did not meet the requirements for this role, do you think they would be a good fit for another role? So I think they do try to do some matching of some sort. Also, if a candidate seems decent but not good enough technically, sometimes they put them in for “recycle” which basically means tell them no and contact them again after a year or two when they’ve more experience. Idk what actually ends up happening to those candidates, but as an interviewer I know they try to not fully “let go” of the candidate
