Can someone from Google shares what is Google's Travel Policy?

1. For international travel, (from SFO to China), do you fly Business class?

2. Is there are a preferred airline? Like UA, or it will be lowest cost?

3. Which hotel chain you normally stay at?

How much travel involved for NPI Operations Manager? Which China cities doe you visit for business trips?

Thank you!!

There is a price cap for different destinations. For a short flight it's based on average economy ticket, for long haul its based on business. I have sometimes gotten lucky and gotten a business ticket for under the cap for a short flight. If you want to go over the cap you can spend credits (which you earn for being under cap on previous trips), use your own money, or use miles/points. Same with hotels, there is a cap you can spend up to. You choose your own hotels and airlines but the company has discounts with some of them to make hitting the cap easier. Airbnb is also OK.

Business class is not guaranteed for all routes. "Super long haul" automatically qualifies, but it's not clear exactly which routes qualify.

  • Salesforce doesn’t allow business class internationally. Economy plus is even really restricted.

Thanks. Interesting... Apple basically provides Business class for all long haul international travel like from SFO to Asia. Hotels are based on company preferred list, most people stays at Hyatt or SPG.
