ADP vs Amazon
Considering director level role from ADP. Might get an offer early Jan. Is it worth moving from aws ? Currently L6 pmt Tc 320 Yoe 10
The caliber of engineer at a place like ADP will astonish you. Not in a good way. Even coming from Amazon, where blind jokes about the low hiring bar. The folks I've worked with that left for or came from ADP and the folks that left for Amazon, there is a giant chasm between their talent levels
As someone who works next to this type of talent @Workforce is taking about, I 100% agree. ADP is a trap.
I can confirm that. I was shocked to see how are teams even working, it takes 5 - 6 months to develop and release smallest of the features. Everyone just spends time on useless meetings, taking credits for other peoples work etc.

Can ADP even pay you more than what Amazon is paying you currently? Afaik directors get paid around 250-300k which is less than what you make. Am i missing something?
You are right. I got to know the numbers pretty late and now just using them as prep for other interviews lined up for me

I highly doubt you will get a matching salary at ADP, he who took a huge paycut to come here. It depends on your family and professional goals, is matching TOC even needed? Also ADP is a really legacy company. Depending on where you are going in dept, product, I'd advise like others stay away. I am hoping to get out.

Nope! I did not. Decided to pursue other opportunities
ADP's Tech stack is pretty rudimentary. I did predictive modeling in the sales org. No one uses Linux. They were a bunch of windows data scientists and the icing on the cake was one guy hated Python programming language and called himself an expert R- Data Scientist lol !!
