I went through a gruelling interview process and got really good pointers from a lot of people at Blind. There's a lot of toxicity in this community, but you can also run into some really amazing people. I just cracked a dream TC (at least for me) and I'm now not going to TC chase for a bit and try to pay it forward. Please feel free to ping me for any interview tips, or even if you need to talk to someone because interviewing (and life in general) is tough. I feel insane amount of gratitude right now and I want more people to feel this way too. How to get more calls: Honestly I didn't have to do much in this aspect. Recruiters were reaching out left and right to a point where I was getting annoyed. So don't really have any tips in that aspect. Just try to keep your LinkedIn updated. Maybe get recommendations on LinkedIn, etc. High level strategy: Target FAANG first. They have more leetcode style interviews. Then targeted top tier companies that don't have leetcode style interviews. Here the focus is more on producing runnable code fast. So i highly recommend using a scripting language like Python or Ruby. You want to practice getting to workable solutions fast. So I did one to two leetcode problems per day. As far as non leetcode style interviews go, I already had plenty of experience writing fast and workable code. So focus is more on explaining your approach as you are solving problems. System Design: I went through grockking the system design interview. Tbh it's a bit overwhelming but just go through it once. The most important aspect is to keep it simple. Create a simple MVP fist and then add resilience, availability, etc. Behavioral: Come up with an intricate story with your past experiences. Something like an elevator pitch. I basically had it ironed out really well. I could parrot it in my sleep. Basically take 4-5 projects from the past and think about learnings. Mental health: Try to detach yourself from the outcome as much as you can. Learn to appreciate what you have now. You're already better than so many people around you. It's easier said than done. Jealousy is a real thing. Learn how to accept rejections and keep moving forward with emphasis on figuring out what you did wrong last time around. That's pretty much it. That's all my learnings condensed. Let me know if that helps. #interview #mentalhealth
