I'm planning to interview for opportunities in self driving company. I know Cruise and Waymo have office in Seattle. Are there any other self driving car companies in Seattle? I'm open to relocate but Seattle is still first preference.

Bellevue office is mainly infra and not core eng. there may be some perception folks but last I checked was mostly MLP and Infra and 90% East Asian. Some teams speak python and only mandarin. Kyle the CTO is a mini-budget Elon. Doesn’t have the technical clout but micromanages heavily. Also the AV teams and hardware teams have to be onsite with the AVs which caused difficulty in hiring remotely historically until COVID. The leadership team was adamantly against remote work and ppl hired remotely had to be staff or a strong exception for Senior with glowing reviews and past remote work experience. It was flagged as too much of a risk to culture and work place dynamics. That’s rooted in Cruise culture. Imagine working post-covid and seeing them curb back on WFH and remote.
The idea of WLB is a joke. What WLB? Get on your knees and shovel the foot long shit sandwich and say Mmmmm fingerlicking good. Delicious more please.
