Been a while since I thought about a new role. Does anyone know if AE’s are getting sign on bonuses now a days with covid and how are equity packages looking? I’m looking at some companies like workday, servicenow and crowdstrike among others. Current comp: 250k OTE, $0 sign-on, $60k equity at start( now worth about $360k) #ae #enterprise #sales
How do you like cloud flare?
It’s good, not perfect, I feel like my pay is below avg for my title. I think if you are a new rep covering SMB, or an AM/SAE like me covering the best accounts, you will hit your qouta. If you are an EAE or hybrid you probably are falling apart somewhere. Especially with the new region alignments
What about someone pivoting to sales from engineering? Good place to start?
Is customer success entry level?
Newer rep here. OP, what other companies are you looking at?
A lot are security focused given my work at CF. However most SaaS companies are looking like an option. From Dropbox, to LinkedIn, to okta
Love working at Okta. Happy to provide more info if you’d like
How many YoE do you have OP?
3-4 YOE
Damn holy shit you’re making so much money wow. I’m 3.5 YoE plus masters in eng and making 110k... bro help me out lol
FAANG companies do give sales roles sign on bonuses. I’ve only ever seen that though with FAANG
Yes... Microsoft gives sign on and stock to AEs
Would you down to help with a referral to Microsoft?
Your OTE is already on the high end for 3-4 YOE, what segment do you sell into?
Existing accounts only, customers that have ACV of $100k+, there is no verticals, I can sell all products to any customer I manage, and I can manage any customer in any industry. One morning I’m talking to a bank, next I’ll talk to a streaming media provider, etc...
Not an AE, but an SE with close AE counterparts and friends. That OTE is around or slightly less than what I’m hearing these guys sign on for with recently IPO’d SaaS companies. No sign on bonus mentioned but plenty of RSUs. For my own curiosity though, do you know what your SE counterparts getting paid for high MM to ENT roles?
We give draws, the amount depends if it’s a brownfield or greenfield territory. Are OTEs are higher too
