I'm a Financial Analyst. I went down a rabbit hole of The Office and Black Mirror, and I'm starting to wonder if my role will ever be phased out / replaced by an emerging tech like AI. What do you think is the likelihood of that happening in the near future? 😳
There’s a lot of work in FA that is routine and mindless. If learn using AI to perform those tasks then you’ll be a better analyst.
Pretty sure there are a ton of things that could be automated in building models, but a lot of things require qualitative finessing - tweaking numbers to fit certain assumptions and end goals and making them justifiable to stakeholders, etc. It would be a tough sale to investors if a firm just goes like "the company is worth this much because AI says so" I imagine

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Probably very high if you're in a financial reporting type of role, and somewhat lower if you're in a more research type of role
