Just curious what the comp would be for the "AI Research Scientist" role at two sigma. Anyone have any idea or good guesses? I had a recruiter reach out asking me to interview for the role. I work as an AI/ML scientist at a bay area tech company now so I dont know much about 2s. Not sure it's worth the hassle of preping for an interview. #twosigma #twosigmacareers
Typically they pay mostly the same or 10-30% more compared to top tech pay for ML. My conclusion was it’s generally not worth it for me given the worse perks, worse WLB and more stress.
Was this for a Quant Researcher role? Someone I know was offered TC of $350-400k for entry-level role.
Yea. As a ML PhD you can easily get 250-300K as an entry level person in tech. For higher levels, 500-700K

IDK about how research scientist salaries compare but for SWE entry level, my 2S offer was significantly higher than G and some higher than FB.
What were your offers at G and FB?
Any updates on what an AI Research Scientist at two sigma does??

I can’t speak to that role, but TS pay very very well. From what I’ve seen, they pay +50% to double what FANG pays. In Quant Finance the firm has a very good reputation, I’ve heard good things about the culture. This is based on others I know who’ve worked there or gotten offers from there. Am curious as to what the role is, whether it’s basically a Quant Researcher, developing trading strategies using DL techniques or what not. If you wouldn’t mind sharing, would be interesting. FYI, I’m not a PhD, would neither qualify nor apply for such roles.
