Be ready to drink a serious amount of koolaid, weed might help ๐
Koolaid yes, but I think the koolaid shapes the culture in a good way sort of.
I didnt even knew about what culture fit interviews are when i went for airbnb onsite. Just be yourself. Share some stories from your past where you did something for other people and society. Dont make any bs stories. People generally can tell. Be honest and show them your soft side. If you care about society and community then airbnb is right company for you and thats exactly they check in those rounds.
Usually you will expect to have 5-6 interview sessions and most of them are technical interviews. As most people expect, you'll need to solve some coding questions and solid code is required. So you should definitely have enough practice with those questions. Culture comes first. Airbnb cares a lot about its culture, which means they only hire people who truly believe in their mission and culture. As said earlier, candidates will have some non-technical interview with interviewers, which will mainly focus on your background, past experience, work style, how you work collaborate with others and so on so forth. Be prepared to answer questions like 'why Airbnb'. The whole process is fast and smooth. Unlike some companies that usually you'll wait for weeks or even months before you get any response, many people said they got on-site interview invitation few hours after phone screens and got final hiring decision one day after all interviews. Here's a really good article about Airbnb's interviewing process: https://goo.gl/LdZz9c
You donโt need special preparation for it, worry about the technical interviews instead. Just be honest in the culture fit interviews. If you donโt pass those interviews, you probably wouldnโt enjoy working here.
