Been offered a role as Sr.Silicon Design Engineer 2 @ AMD Santa Clara for a Gpu Model Development team I come with 2.5 years experience at Intel. Wondering if a salary of 120k is avg/low/ high?
Do you have any equity, sign on etc? Is the bonus target 10%?
The annual bonus is target at 8%, and I have been offered a sign on bonus of 25k
So this is a total comp of about 130K. Glassdoor seems to suggest the average base for this is little under 120K. So this offer is right on the average. The range is between 87K - 161K. Your Negotiation power depends on whether you have a competing offer or whether you are willing to play hard ball and say “I’m happy to stay where I am unless you give me X”. AFAIK it is rare for AMD to give more than the average/median amount. Good luck.
I would say slightly below avg, push for 130k base and more signon
