I've been at MSFT for 5 years and I can slowly see myself dying here. It has become obvious that I can't really grow at work, so alas I have come to blind. I've tried leaving MSFT and almost got an offer at a few places, but didn't.... So I'm stuck here for another 6-12months.
In that time, I want to grow as a programmer. Specifically with understanding distributed systems, high scale micro services and whatever the next cool thing is going to be in 5-10 years.
What books/docs/tools can I mess in my free time to grow while I waste away at my day job?

I am in Azure DocDB and it's pretty good
Practice interviewing/leetcode, schedule a bunch of interviews with the idea that you definitely will leave rather than just doing one every couple of months in hopes of a perfect miracle.
