We just got an overhaul of benefits for employees, which improved the work/life balance profoundly.
Obviously, your experience is going to vary from team to team, but let me tell you this:
Coming from a family-like team at Salesforce with a high TC, job security, and able to take 8+ weeks per year off: I don’t want to leave Postmates. My team is awesome, I’m challenged and learning profoundly each week, our work/life balance has recently changed dramatically (in a positive way), and the salary is very competitive (one of the higher cash-paying companies in SF).
Culture is becoming more relaxed, happy, and strong as toxic leaders and processes are slowly diminishing.
