Hello Guys! Passed phone interview and going to on site in Sydney office. I have 10+ yoe and some Cisco certifications including CCIE. Can you guys give a clue of what to expect for the interview? Im also not a coding guy, Im learning python. As this is for Network development engineer what could be the coding questions and the best way to prepair myself. thanks! #nde #networkengineer
Do you have any information about how much is a fair offer for this position in TC for Sydney base?
I don't know what the SYD comp ranges are, though as a point of comparison I'm an L5 NDE in SEA and had TC of just under 200k USD in 2019.
And to reiterate, if you're strong in both networking and coding you can write your ticket, but if you have minimal or no coding/automation experience then you become a much harder sell. In the past few years automation has increasingly become more important to the job. It's pretty common for old school NEs strong in networking to get to a loop, only for us to find in the interview that they can barely piece together a for loop. They don't get an offer.
@cciessj4 how was the onsite and did you get an offer ?
With 10+ YOE I'd expect you to be interviewing for an L6 role or *maybe* high L5, for which you better have some coding/automation experience else you're SOL. For NDE they don't care about SDE-style coding interview questions and are more concerned with demonstrable automation solutions you've developed.
