Just a note that Amazon doesn’t offer FMLA (12 weeks paid medical leave) until you have worked at least a year with them.
They do offer a Medical LOA which can be taken as a full leave, or partial (like you work part-time) but it is not paid.
In terms of sick leave PTO days, it is pretty low. Like 1 per month.
I would not join if you have a better medical leave policy at your current company. Also, as you may know, the culture at Amazon can be toxic at times and everyone expects a high performance right away which will undoubtedly have an impact on your health and recovery. Unfortunately there’s no way to know if you’ll be placed on a good/decent/horrible team.
Lastly I will say that legally they cannot punish/PIP you for taking sick leave.
