AWS PTO

Amazon doesn't give to much PTO huh. Do they allow hours to roll over year to year or is it use it or loose it?

You get like 5 personal days, 5 sick days, 3 additional sick days in Seattle, and then your normal PTO (I think 10 days your first year, 15 after year 1). There some holidays sprinkled around there too PTO and some sick days carry over. personal days and some sick days do not roll over. You'll want to burn personal days, then sick days, then finally PTO. My manager highly encouraged us to burn sick days first.

Vacation Days and Personal Days (PTO) are different. Vacation Days can carry over but can only have up to a certain amount. Personal Days (PTO) can not be carried over. Sick days are based on location so they vary. It’s all on their website. https://www.amazon.jobs/en/landing_pages/pto-overview-us

This is pretty accurate. I think for Seattle you get 3 days of sick leave, that makes your total 24 days if you have worked at Amazon for more than 1 year but less than 6 years.

Personal days and sick time carry over now, I believe up to 48 hours. They changed policy Jan 2018 to comply with a new Washington law.

I believe that as of this year personal and sick days carry over now too.

Burn sick days and personal days first. When you leave, you’ll be paid out only for remaining vacation days. The others don’t count.
