Idk why I can’t wrap my head around this but need some help.
So say you start at AWS Jan 1st 2021 and are given x amount of base, sign-on, and RSU’s
After your first year do you get anything of a raise? Can you get a RSU increase after your first year? Or do you not see any increase other than stock appreciation till after year two where then you could be awarded more RSU’s that would vest at the end of year 3 or 4.
Just trying to wrap my head around this. Seems like it wouldn’t matter if you’re an exceeds until after year two?
TIA!

It boils down to what your comp target is and what your comp is in reality. If actual comp is even slightly higher you get nothing
Source: worked at the ‘zon and AWS
Of all the RSUs they assigned you, you get 5% after 1 yr, 15% after 2, and 20% every six months after.
There is a small salary bump each year 1-3%
This is all from my experience as an SDE1 hired in 2019. Fun fact: stock has done well since I joined, so when I got promo this month they didn’t give me anymore RSUs 🤡
I haven’t seen what zuMI3 is talking about, annual stock refreshers, but could be my org or maybe I’m a talentless hack 🤷♂️
