I’m familiar with AWS TC methodology of base + bonus + RSU. With sales roles though, where does variable sales comp (commissions) fit in this formula? Is it a part of the bonus number or is it a 4th component? Ex: if TC is 350k with base 160k, bonus 100k and RSU 90k where would quota/commission fit in this formula?
Just accepted my AWS offer for Sr enterprise AE. Comp is as follows Base: 150 Sign on: 95 y1, 75 y2 65k commission 70 shares over 4 years Commission has a cap but it’s high. Anything sold over 100% is 5x
Your sign on bonus was 160 over 2 years? That seems pretty high - are you counting ramp commission or strictly signing bonus?
The sign on bonus portion and commission are completely separate buckets so the 95 y1 bonus and the 65k are both separate. This is for an L6 sr role.
In that scenario: 350,000 -160,000 -50,000 (1yr bonus) -4,500 (5% of 90k shares) —————————————— 135,500 commission potential @ 100% of quota
