Applied for a Sr TAM role at AWS in Australia. Went through 7 interviews and received an offer for in fact a TAM level as follow (AUD): - Base: 145k - Signing bonus: 37k year1, 25k year2 - RSU: 35 Was surprised that they didn’t give me a Sr level role as I have a master degree and 13YoE... I have tried to negotiate but they have been inflexible on any item which is strange... My current employer package is 20k/year higher...is it worth the change?
Did u tell them your current package before you went for interview ? I would not take if its lower than current package. They are sweat shop and startup environment. Going from established form to AWS is not easy as I hear from my colleague.
They did ask for current and expected package, they seem to be taking people for a fool...
HR arranged a call with the manager...is that common practice for AWS?
Did you accepted the offer ? Did you manage to get level up? Or just rejected it ?
They increased the package a bit, I decided to try as AWS is booming...company is good but depending on your role you would be doing lots of hours!
No, don’t take pay cut + low level. Not worth it unless you hate your current role.
Thx!
