Hey everyone - Currently a Solutions Architect at AWS Cloud ( pre-sales), based out of Atlanta. planning to move to Google Cloud in pretty much same role (sales engineer). yoe 15 tc 310k (inflated stocks) L6 155k base rest all stocks, (sign in bonus is all gone as its been more than 2 years now) my questions are - 1. what could be the possible comp at Google (L5 and L6) for Atlanta location, does google compensate you on any sales quota as well? ( there is no such thing for SAs at AWS). 2. any recent interview experience? how many on-site rounds, type of questions etc 3. like everyone else at AWS, I have also signed non-compete, which would essentially be applicable to GCP as they are direct competitor. Anyone switched job directly to competitor? what are the chances that Amazon will sue me for this? Thanks!
Good question. Non-compete might be a problem. I had a conversation with similar role person from GCP and he is kinda junior in terms of experience. Send me an IM, we can talk and I can put in touch with GCP people who can answer this
I have the same exact question. Any comments anyone?
I am wondering why do you guys want to shift the career since I am about to take the offer from AWS? Can someone provide a feedback please?
I’ve been here 6 months as a CE (Sales Engineer) albeit as an L4...TC is $195k but I only have ~6 YOE and this is Atlanta. I came in at $125k base from a job where I was making $135k (I didn’t negotiate at all)... but then Cloud cut everyone’s base smh...I dropped 10% but my variable doubled. Point is- if you’re coming in as an L6 and you were at $155k base before, You can probably get at least that. My stock awards matched my salary so if they at minimum do that for you and also give you at least what I get variable (you should get more as L6) your total package will be over 310k... as far as the interview stuff, they claim they are making it easier now because we need to staff up. No more HC or technical demos for ICs.
HC? ICs?
Anyone?
