I recently had a phone screen with AWS and have been told that they would like to move ahead but haven’t heard anything from them in a week and the recruiter has mentioned that the team is still gathering feedback to decide on the next step, what does all the above mean? Are they generally this slow?
If it makes you feel any better, I’m still waiting for the team I applied for to reach out with their interview availability after submitting mine- it’s been a week plus. Hang in there!
Quite contradictory to the above comments .. Amazon in general takes candidate experience seriously.. we have an internal SLA by which interviewers should submit feedback... Like anything else things get delayed for various reasons.. but rest assured when u ping the recruiter they ping the interviewer to get their feedback in ASAP...
I agree with this. Mine was pretty fast. I had my onsite scheduled 1 week after I passed my phone screen. - My onsite was on a Friday. - I got a verbal offer on Monday! (just 1 business day) - I signed on Tuesday. I even asked them to move my start date because I had planned a vacation with my wife. My start date is literally 7 weeks after I accepted the offer 😂 Edit: This is for a SDE 2 position @ AWS
AWS is hiring a lot .. most teams are doubling their staff ... So coordinating can be hard...
Thanks
Teams doubling == Customer facing
Amazon is NOTORIOUS for having shitty recruiters and an even shittier hiring process. My s/o’s onboarding took 7 months- I wouldn’t worry about it, but I can almost guarantee it will take a while.
