We are a fairly large company that is starting our migration to the cloud. In reality we will probably use both AWS and Azure for redundancy. Is one better than the other? Should one be primary and one secondary? I know without specific technical information these questions are pretty high level.
What sort of tech stack do you have? If there is any Ms in there, you should definitely have some azure and make use of their rapidly improving devops. If it's any other tech stack, look at google too.
Too much info on this topic for a blind post! Good luck researching
Wtf.. are you comparing azure to aws??
Go build a python to-do list on each platform and tell us what you think. I would honestly avoid cross cloud however you go. The real benefits of cloud come from the hosted proprietary services like databases, message queues, etc..
aws bro!
is your main use case SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS?
or all three
Why not go with aws in more than one region for redundancy? Either way, sounds like redundancy should be left to the service.
I've worked for both Azure and AWS. AWS is cheaper, more performant, and more reliable. Azure was cobbled together using Windows Server, Hyper-V, and chicken wire, and Microsoft has been trying to build on top of a faulty foundation ever since. No one ever got fired for choosing AWS, but I've seen some very unhappy Azure customers.
azure > aws WTF is amazon but a strip mall
Can you provide evidence to support this claim? AWS continues to grow faster than Azure so the average customer would disagree with the veracity of your claim. However if I wanted to keep my DBAs employed gating schema roll-outs by analyzing query execution plans I can see why Azure is appealing because your MSSQL costs are less.
LMAO You have no idea what you are talking about
Azure has the best Hybrid story
Joke
I'm really curious about this claim because I cannot find data that supports it.
