AWS vs. GCP (Sales)
I missed an offer at GCP after making it to pack review due to a poor final interview.. GCP came back a year later asking me to reinterview.. AWS reached out a few days later and im starting from scratch at both.. if you’re looking to get into cloud sales... who do you like better? I’m leaning GCP.. WDYT?
Aws is a well oiled machine, lot of work descent fixed pay but growth will be slower

I think its SVP review.
GCP in London at least.. they do a phone screen with a recruiter, then the hiring manager will screen you.. then you come onsite for 3-4 in person interviews then there is regional pack review then HQ reviews your hiring pack.. HQ reviewed my pack.. asked me to do one more interview and an ENT sales rep asked me some really technical questions and I dropped the ball. Now I have to start from scratch
What questions did you bomb? Also GCP sales sucks, enterprise customers don’t really respect google
It was a while back but from what I remember it was around tensorflow.. questions about GPU’s and one on competitive advantages within the market.. ie who’s good at what
Yup it’s a losing race for google. Their revenue is equal to how much AWS grew year over year. There is no catching up at this point. Microsoft does have a strong chance though.
Uh, G has double the growth and are about 1/4 the size. If these rate continue (not saying they will), G catches up to A in like 6 years... Way less than forever. I thought GCP was like 1/10 the size of AWS, not 1/3.5
which one did you choose? I am in a boat where I have 16 YOE of consulting experience and am making a shift to cloud as an SA (pre-sales), and trying to decide between AWS and GCP
Gcp is building their org so more growth but unorganized and missing the support structure
