Heard from a good friend, 10% of US workforce cut last week. He wasn’t sure why it didn’t make the news as it was large and surely needed WARN notices to be filed. Large redundancy actions planned for EU too. Can anyone confirm and if so, why is it being silenced?
There was a lay-off...a friend of mine was let go in that and it seems to be those who are not currently staffed to a project. I can’t provide anymore insight than that unfortunately
Not for federal. In fact I got an email about referral bonuses. Need clearance though.
Not sure if the 10% of workforce was let go but I can confirm there were layoffs last week. Not only the people on bench but people staffed on the projects with good chargeability rate were let go as well.
People with chargeability ? Strategy/MC/TC/Delivery?
Can't confirm for Europe. Still hiring, I'm collecting a referral bonus this month.
Europe where? Any ideas about TC for senior(10 yeo) level in the Netherlands?
Germany. Really depends what position you're going for, in which group. Also varies from country to country, so would recommend talking to someone from the Netherlands. Sorry that I can't give more precise info
nope
Fair point. Is it true that half a million people work for Accenture now?
Sorry to hear that for Accenture folks

What's a body shop
It’s basically a company that focuses on staffing you to a client. Doesn’t matter if the work is meaningful to your career development or even if it’s what you were hired to do to begin with. They profit off of the client having you work. It’s not really a tech company, it’s just trash consulting.
But they are still hiring quite a bit I believe? Odd....
Sometimes they’re just hiring because a client is demanding a certain skillset, and Accenture is forced to hire someone on a contract role. If it’s a normal grad role or has a specific level, it’s probably low enough so that they don’t need to dispose of those people.
10% seems like a really high number.
