Accenture to Google?

Mar 2 37 Comments

Considering applying to Google. Have a skill set and interests in PM work, data science, strategy, and process improvement.

Have 5 YOE and advanced degree. Salary expectation is 160+

Specific roles I should look for?
Salary expectations?
Other things to consider?

Anything helps.

PM would be a long shot, Google is very picky about the role. Your best bet is something that exactly aligns with your current role.

No one really cares about your advanced degree.

Comp is very easy to beat.

    • Como wise are you referring to solely salary base? I know there’s the additional stocks units provided as well. And pretty good sign on.

I am considering total compensation. With how liquid and stable Google stocks are it would not make sense to think about just the base.

At your experience level probably 30-40% of your compensation at Google would be in stocks. Which is only likely to keep getting bigger with time.

  • Wow, that's confidence!

In a hypothetical summary, in the Blind community,
60% - have already applied and did not even get a call for interview
20% - got a call but did not clear for interview
10% - have done multiple interviews but not selected yet and ask community for help
10% - cleared the interview and post their success story

Your post is a first, one of a kind!
Hope you land in the 10%

  • I made the move recently and know of several others who have. As most will tell, you look for roles where you at least meet requirements but even better if you exceed requirements, esp years of experience.
