Accenture vs Deloitte

Hello. Someone approached me with an opportunity at Deloitte and I’m curious to know if Deloitte is a better place to work at then Accenture? Deloitte is considering me for a manager position so I’m also curious what the salary range is? #consulting

Don’t go to Deloitte. It’s the single most toxic professional consulting firm that ever existed. Here why: It’s FULL of people who wanted to be the best, but came in second. Deloitte is the most prestigious of Big4 (big5 inc Accenture in uk terms). But they’re still wayyy below MBB in prestige. The only reason to stay at Deloitte is prestige (pay worst in big 4) and the people there are grumpy a-wholes who project their rage due to an unfulfilled superiority complex onto the non-partner population. TLDR; run

He’s not wrong. I’m Fucking miserable. That being said, there are good managers and good teams that protect your WLB and career. Combine that with the traveling lifestyle and it’s pretty good. It’s not for most, though

    • Being that I’ve worked for both, here goes. Accenture is more of a forgiving culture. The culture and the people stay a long time, it’s a good place to learn and try new things. Deloitte is a tougher environment, it’s polished in a sense the performance management is transparent, the pay and perks are typically better and the leadership are more skilled and will champion for your success. Yet Deloitte does not have WLB, and you have to grind to be seen, find a project coming in as a manager will be challenging and they will expect you know the Deloitte way bc you are a manager. If you want to be trained, go to Deloitte, but learn the power of No early and network like crazy.

Hahaha some salty people in here. Depends what your function is and the practice - terms of compensation D beats out A, especially manager and above. Base salary will be similar but the bonus pools are significantly different. D’s overall infrastructure is far superior as well, so many different resources. I’d chose D for nothing other than exit opportunities. Source: Me (3.5 with A and now 6 with D)

  • Hey fellow Acn (US) here, I'm in the software/product space and considered both. Been at Acn a while and have been approached by Deloitte recruiters. Their paybands are generally lower than ours and clients / work is less interesting in this space.. I don't often see Deloitte as a presence on the software engagements at FAANGMULA companies I've worked on.

    • I work at Meta through Deloitte. There are over 200+ people on this engagement.
I also know people working for Google, Apple through Deloitte.

    • Meta and Google will have a variety of vendors for sure due to their sheer size. At Uber, Airbnb, Snap, Twitter etc I haven't seen much of a Deloitte presence but that could've changed lately.

  • Accenture anyday over Deloitte. I wont say much, me and a colleague same team same level. Got offers from both. She joined Deloitte and I Accenture. In a year she moved from Deloitte to Accenture. 4 years have passed and we both are at Accenture still.
