I recently accepted an offer from a company in NYC, signed all the paperwork, transferred my visa, etc. I put in my 2 weeks notice and my manager asked if I would consider a counter offer if they matched my new TC.

I quite like my current job, the people, the wlb, the SF weather is all great. But the new company seems like a great place too and I want to experience living in NYC while I'm still in my 20s and in this country.

Should I accept the counter offer and stick with what I know I like or just move on?

Tbh accepting counter offer or not depends on the company. I would have 0 fears accepting a counter offer from Google because it has a history of giving counter offers (similarly some other big techs do that too). But from a small tech company, I would not.

Never accept counter. Like, never ever. You decided to move on by signing. Stick to your word!
