I have a decent offer from a very good company but they want my answer soon. I have other on sites scheduled with amazon, google, facebook etc this month and next which will take some time to finalize. I may not get any offers at all after this. I am on H1b. I hate my current job and desperately want to leave. Here's my question: Since i am on H1b and if i accept the offer they will start the transfer process right away. Can i leave this new company once my H1b gets transferred ? If yes, then are there any implications of doing that other than ethical ones ? #jobchange #H1bIssues #h1B #microsoft Please advise. I HAVE to leave my current job !!
Agreed. Take what you have
So what's your question? Are you saying you want to make this new company file your H1b in premium... Get it approved in next 45ish days (lawyer + USCIS) .. and then if by that time you get an offer from you dream company.. you want to say no and move there..? Yes you can and no one can stop you. Do what's best for you.
Thanks a ton ! I will say yes to this company if pushed. Give my best in next onsites. Can't stay in microsoft for sure !
Mind sharing a bit more details about why you are so desperate to leave Microsoft? May be give a rough idea about team etc? I am planning to interview few teams at MS ... I understand if you can't share
Hold on to that offer. Don't accept yet. Tell them you need sometime. Usually good companies always track the good candidate and so they will hopefully keep the offer alive for quite sometime
They will say so.. don't hurry
Yeah, hopefully they will give me some time.
Delay acceptance and then again delay h1b documentation. Do whatever is best for you. Do remember that you might get blacklisted though
Curious to know, why didn't you like the company that you are working in. Microsoft is my dream company from college.
I won’t throw whole Microsoft under the bus but for me first reason is my manager. Second reason is my business unit, bing, which sucks because they are not main revenue generators in Microsoft and put unnecessary pressure on employees.
What’s the company that you have the offer from and what is the offer and your YOE Incase u don’t mind sharing?
Why do you want to leave Microsoft?
I did this 2 years back. You can accept any number of offers and ask all of them to start H1B process simultaneously. It does not matter. You can decide which one you will be joining.
If you are that miserable, take the offer you have and stop interviewing with the others.
but still have onsites with my dream companies
Then pass on the first offer and stay where you are.
