Adobe Offer (IC) advice

Hey guys. I just received a verbal offer from Adobe that I find quite low.
This is for a non-technical position, IC and based out of Austin (for a company Adobe acquired last year)

Base: 145K
Annual Bonus: 7%
Stock Grant: 62K

I am a bit shocked on how low the bonus is when compared to my current bonus. I immediately asked about it and requested them to match my current bonus (15%). Recruiter came back stating it was fixed and nothing they could do there. I was told they would try to increase my base since the bonus was fixed, but I got an email the following day that the base was as high as they could get.

I have read multiple websites and discussion boards, and it seems there is no single answer. I have read 5% all the way to 15% for non manager positions. Any idea if this can be improved or not? I, unfortunately, do not know the level I am being hired for, but I did ask some MBA peers and they stated they got a 15% bonus fresh out of MBA ( I already have 4 years of experience Post MBA on this specific role, plus 6 others prior to MBA, although not directly related to this role)
Also, the RSU seems extremely low. Again I have read a lot of different data points, but it seems the average is around 500 RSU. I am getting around 250.

Thoughts on this offer and how I can negotiate an increase in all fronts?

  • I think the answer is always going to be have multiple offers and be willing to walk away

AIP is flat 7% for non-sales/managers. Ask for more RSU or walk away.

Most rolls and most IC get 7% bonus. Some roles especially machine learning can get higher bonuses. RSUs sound average, you'll have to push for more and have negotiating power, like another offer.

Thanks guys, I just wonder why MBA classmates, currently working at Adobe did confirm they got 15% out of MBA and in IC roles as well along with a much higher RSU offer. Why would I get 7% and a low RSU with 4 years of direct and relevant experience in the role I am being hired at. Did the policy change in the last couple of years?
      Thanks for your feedback

  • Non-people mangers at Adobe get 7% (it used to be 5%). Anyone getting 15% (and not managing people is likely a mistake somewhere in the system). There have been program managers with more than 7% and this has been brought to HR’s attention (program management got totally out of control and there have been some roll backs as some are getting more that an actual manager of engineers... which is wrong, so so wrong)

    • Nope - obviously management oversight. HR (if made aware) will actually correct over time

    • Recruiter gave me the number. Said it was standard for that level. Approved by a VP 🤷‍♂️

MBA +4 yrs.. non tech, that looks like a damn good offer in the Austin area. I suppose it depends on what you are bringing to the table to demand more. Depending on stock refresh amount you are looking at total comp of almost 200k with 4 years? What MBA program did you graduate from? Class rank?

Yes it looks like that job is just a level below where you should be. It's time to have a real talk with the recruiter and preferably the hiring manager about why you'll need to walk away.
