I'm expecting a verbal offer from Adobe today. Recruiter wants to talk on phone, probably to get initial comp expectations. This is for Bay area office. I'm currently L63 at MS with 168k base, avg 15% bonus, and only 22k rsu per year). The team was very nice and they have some interesting challenges. But with more on-sites in next couple of weeks this isn't my top choice. No other outstanding offers yet. Should I even mention an amount? Does Adobe give competitive salary? Thanks.
The org you're applying to doesn't pay well
What clouds do?
That's disappointing! This is in Emeryville office.
Being California, I think they just passed a law saying that employers could not ask about salary history. It is supposed to help with gender-based pay disparity... This may help you?
That's true. I believe that law kicks in 2018 but employer is unlikely to ask current comp. But I think they can still ask for expected comp.
You still have no obligation to answer. You can just say you would like amount $abc based on your research at the following sources...
That's an interesting team. I think Adobe can pay competitively depending on the team, also consider the stock price doubling a couple times in the past few years and all the benefits.
Surprised they are hiring on the ad cloud I thought they were sunsetting that whole product.
Usually I avoid mentioning an amount but for me I'm not BSing when I say compensation is less important to me than other things like team and product
How does Adobe I/O team do? Do they pay well?
Please update! I doubt we'd meet that bc adobe is cheap but I'd love to be wrong
Talking to recruiter tomorrow.
Adobe is not the place to go if you’re looking for top pay
Pay may vary, I came in early this year got basically what your are making, $220k total comp at that time as non senior engineer. Not the top tier, but decent. Working here feels similar to Microsoft. You might be making more with ESPP at Microsoft.
