Hi, receive two offer at their Seattle office Adobe SWE Base 180K RSU 185K Bonus 7% Sign on 30K Pros: work life balance, two campus shutdowns per year, good culture Cons: technology might not be cutting edge (use c++, java and some AWS service) Apple lvl 4 Base 172K RSU 225K Bonus 10% Sign on 30K Pros: big company, using go and python in this team so it will be a good start if I want to switch to data engineer Cons: small regional office (major teammate including manager will be at Bay area), potentially more pressure, some travels are needed. Additional information: Apple just raise Base from 172K to 180K and raise sign on from 30K to 50K. FYI, I just signed Adobe's offer yesterday, at this stage, what should I do? what's the best option for me? Thank all for your advise in advanced.
What is your YOE?
6 YOE
What do you do at Amazon and TC
Apple. You can always switch to the HQ
Adobe has a great culture and amazing WLB. I know quite a few people who moved to Adobe from Amazon and Apple because they were stressed out and are enjoying their time at Adobe. I’d say if you are single and have a lot of time to kill, go for Apple else choose Adobe. That’s a very good offer for someone having 6 YOE. Don’t think people in Bay Area get that as well having 6 YOE at Adobe.
Thanks for the suggestion! at this stage, I do need a work life balance, because I have a 4 month old baby at home =) definitely need spend times to taking care of her
You already have answered your question. Adobe if you want easy life, Apple if you like more pressure (and money). Adobe has many “hidden” benefits and great wlb. Apple has much more refreshers yearly compared to Adobe.
What are these hidden benefits? Can you please share a few?
Hi! Also interested in know what these hidden benefits are
FYI using go and python alone won’t help u break into DE
Which org of apple? It is very interesting to see Adobe and Apple are actually comparable
Having worked both at Apple and Adobe, my vote will be always for Adobe unless the work at Apple is much more interesting and better for your career growth. Both of your offers are quite similar and Apple’s offer is not that better. BTW, when I was at Adobe (a while back), the cash bonus was more than 7% but I think now RSU refreshes are better than before. WLB and day to day work experience is in general much better at Adobe. Which teams at Apple and Adobe are your offers from (if you can share that info)? On a couple of previous comments: agree that just using Python won’t get you a good data scientist role; you need to master the ML/DL concepts and the math/statistics behind it.
I'm in a similar position and I'm choosing between Adobe Enterprise Analytics and Apple Software Analytics & Tools team. Do you have any opinions on either of those?
Would recommend adobe over apple here. Great WLB. Great people. On WLB front, it's you who manage it.
What org in Apple?
