BG: 1 year Financial Analyst experience in private investment/fixed income. Bachelor in Accounting with info system. Master in Finance with Python involved. I always have a sense of insecurity about future career (feel job is not challenging, future pay is not so good as doing Tech), and thus thinking about going to Tech track instead of traditional investment. How do you think the future of Finance? Should I dive down to investment management? If so any advise for Asset/Investment Management young profession to be competitive in core functions(P/L related)? If FinTech is the future, should I start to creat my personal portfolio or Leetcode etc.? I appreciate your thoughts. #finance #investment #fin-tech
Finance will continue to die
Ya, kinda agree but kinda of not. Could you please share more about it, like which area, how, why, etc. thank you!
I’m in fintech strategy - finding tech for the bank to stay competitive. Lots of the fintech we looked at are founded by former bankers - they know the pain points and decision makers.

Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?
Asset management is a shrinking pie. Fees are at all time lows and automation has reduced the amount of positions available. I don’t feel confident in financial services as a long term career. Due to this i started a MS in CS with hopes of transferring to tech.
Thank you for sharing your story. Would you mind my asking how did you think about/come up the idea of the next step - getting an MS CS degree, and how it could be related to your previous experience. Honestly, I have concerns of making changes this way. On the one hand, I do not know anyone around me has done like this so have no idea how it actually works once done with the degree. On the other hand, would age be an restriction? Like 27 years old out of CS Masters program to compete for an entry level tech role (Seems make no sense). So briefly speaking, would you suggest any area that is tech-oriented for future but still can leverage finance expertise, and how to thrive for future. My bad so many doubts and questions. I sincerely appreciate your time and efforts if you would like to share more about your story. Thanks again.
Good question. Coming out of my master’s, Im not looking for entry level software engineering positions, but rather a role more aligned to strategy/analytics where my business background can be leveraged. Think Product management/Strategy and ops/ Strategic Finance.
