During my 1st Sem of MS from a top 10 CS uni, got a C- in AI, still have been working as an AI research assistant at uni's top research institute! Moreover whole profile from publications to projects are AI related! How do I explain this during my internship interviews? (Truth : I didn't study)
How will the interviewer know your grades?
Some companies ask for transcripts before interviews
I don’t know any company that does that.
Cool. I got an A+ in my intro AI course
this wasn't Intro level course bruh 😆
what was your research?
Part of a research group where we are designing multiple AI agents (each with it's own unique characteristics) and deploying them on Reddit/Twitter like environments. We observe there collective behavior, how they use internet to maximize their influence on these social media platforms.
My role is handling 7TB of Game Data, in order to train an AI agent to win a game. And observe the decisions made by the AI to win the game, deploy it into our media platform AIs! It's really fun all in all! 🤩
Nobody cares about schools or grades...
No one cares dude, this is not the research world
so research work has no value?
> so research work has no value? It has less value than product development. That's why industry research scientists (FAIR, Brain, etc) get paid LESS than software engineers. Source: Am RS at Google
It doesn't matter. At MIT they give the same final exam in the AI course every year. They just change the answers . .
A C- in an AI class at a top 10 CS school is different than getting that grade at a random state school.
duly noted
In other news: no one cares. TC or GTFO
