This post includes a bit of a rant. My question is at the end of the post.

Got an offer from one of the FANG companies for senior engineer role. low-balled offer as I didnt have any competing offers. was told that wouldnt increase the base and rsu as i had no competing offers. I tried negotiating. went back and forth once and was told the same thing again.
I asked if they could increase my signon. they said if I agree to sign immediately they would increase signon. unfortunately since I was already dejected I asked for a small increase in sign on. they agreed and sent me the offer letter.

however, i am not happy with the offer as i find that everyone here on Blind seems to be earning more from FANG. Some of them have lesser experience than I do 🥺I feel like maybe i didn't negotiate to the best of my ability and caved sooner under pressure. Seeing so many companies lay off employees and go on hiring freezes made me feel like i should secure what i have got.

But now i feel like I rushed things. Maybe I shouldve risked it and tried to negotiate. 🤷‍♀️
Because I want to be happy and feel I am I am being paid for the work i put in. It is the rest of my life for the next few years.

My question: is there any way to negotiate further in this ? or would i risk losing the offer I have?

The fact that a real person can be upset about this amount of money is actually disgusting lmfao

Wow, absolutely disgusting really? The fact that people are struggling elsewhere doesn't mean anyone should sell themselves short.

If OP was selling a house and they think they got a much lower price than they should, would you have the same reaction?

Given your logic, because people around the world are struggling to pay rent, OP has a house to sell and they have the gall to want the FAIR MARKET VALUE of their property. How disgusting!

You are the one that needs to log off this app and stop spreading your negativity. No one should be called disgusting for wanting to get paid the fair market value.

How would you react if OP's offer was say $30k/year but many people who shared their offers on Blind got $36k-$40k?

This is the same as getting ~20%-30% less in TC.

The lesson you will learn one day: Compare yourself against who you were yesterday. Don't compare yourself against others. You don't know where they've come from and where they're going and you might not share the same destination with the person you're comparing yourself against.

360K TC for 8 YoE is fine. Obviously not an offer from Amazon or Netflix given base and RSUs.

Most Blind TC is exaggerated anyway. Look at Google L5 or FB E5 on Levels.fyi, your offer is good

Bro low key offended right now. “Lowball”...how about gaining some perspective and being thankful for what you have, which is A LOT. Would an additional 50K a year finally make you at peace with the world?
