Marcus division:
Tech stack - excellent,
Work innovation- always,
legacy stack- minimal/ zero,
Work life balance- hell,
Wake early & stay late culture-totally,
Pandemic understanding-less likely,
promotion-more concerned if you are not fired next year,
Competition-very high, politics-very high, MDs-constantly leaving after getting bonus
Good thing - firm is heavily expanding it's tech workforce in India, so might create plenty of leadership opportunities. Upto you if you are comfortable managing teams/work that isn't the best out there, but might pay you well.
Marcus is one of the best teams you can work with at GS by their standards. They use modern tech stack and don't have as much tech debt or legacy systems that GS is notorious for.
Not sure how the culture or WLB is in India.
