Looking for any information on Airbnb culture...extra points for anyone working as a market mgr
The office in CHI is small. I believe the only folks there are public policy, they are great the team is pretty diverse. The culture will largely be what you make it because there aren't that many people and many of them work remotely so they travel a lot. Generally the company means well but like any other place there are problems. The company is VERY white. You could fit all the black folks and Latinas in the entire company in one large room probably--most of us are on the east coast. Doing a bit better with Asian representation, but that's in large part due to engineering and our offices based in Asia. For all intents and purposes airbnb has the cultural competency of a freshman year undergrad who took their diversity requirement and suddenly realizes everyones experience isn't the same as their upper middle class suburban white upbringing, so get ready for a lot of eye rolls and white guilt but not a lot of concrete action. There are ERGs though which offer a bit of support.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I really appreciate it
No problem, with all that being said. It's a great company to work for, and the remote offices, while they don't have the same amenities as SF are a little better because it isn't so insular and techy if that makes sense.
lol barely any poc (not including Indian and Asian)
why are you not including Indians or Asians?
