I’ve been a frontend engineer for 4 years now, 2 of which have been as an L4 at Uber. I like it here, but Airbnb sounds more exciting - I have an L5 interview soon, and I feel really comfortable/confident with my front end skills, BUT is it worth brushing up on those white board-type LeetCode questions? For those of you at Airbnb or in a similar situation that have applied there, how difficult did you find the process? Thanks!
The Airbnb front-end questions are mostly practical problems. That being said, you will be asked one leetcode hard question during the on-site... Be confident with jquery or vanilla js. It's very hard to pass a front-end loop because there's so few open positions and TBH I don't see any reason to hire a L5+ front-end specialist... Best of luck!
I love jQuery and vanilla js! These days it’s all Angular, Vue and React work though. So few open positions? It’s not like I’m applying, I got recruited for an L5 front end role. I would hope the position exists 😅
I'm sure Airbnb would have an open position if they are recruiting for it. I'm just talking about hiring in general. Last time I talked to a FB recruiter, he told me that they have 1000 front-end engineers and probably around 18k engineers in total... The percentage is low.
Good luck 👍 and post your questions here once done 😅
@op you never gave us an update on how it went?
