Applied on Airbnb website for SWE role in paris. Got a hackerrank test the following day and i took the test and secured correct output for all test cases. Got a mail from HR in 30 mins congratulating me for doing well and set up a call , where he asked about experience and visa requirements etc. Two days following that i got a mail saying they are not moving forward because they dont see my qualification a good match. While rejection doesnt hurt , the reasoning behind it certainly does. They had my resume , profile and answer to visa requirements from the application , why even send a test to candidate ,set up a call and then see for a match in qualifications.
My guess is that something in your call was a red flag for team and company fit, or your exact mix of experiences didst match what they were hoping to find. Didnt match qualifications is often a generic rejection.
Most likely couldn't explain a past project in enough depth as they would consider for the level.
@wholsjack ,nope no question on project ,recruiter call was like 20 mins more of introduction and abstract about past experience , mostly about the roles location etc
Is Airbnb better than Google
Not at all bro.
Often times visa quotas have been met, or they did not write the job description in a way that could pass a market test.
This is for Paris and not for US
Now i am happy.
Do you need work visa sponsorship? If so, I’d start there.
well certainly that was question in the application itself. "Do you need visa sponsorship?" "You should stop there and not start there :P " And the feedback was my qualification was not good fit for the role.
The feedback is a copied and pasted generic answer.
