Considering making a move to Airbnb. What are the best and worst things about working there? If you currently work there, are you optimistic about the company and planning to stay for a while? Anything else that you wished you’d known before joining? Specifically interested in the NY office and teams spinning up in NY, but curious to hear about your impressions of the company generally as well.
How good are you at cleaning houses? Be sure to describe this in detail on the resume.
Best: a lot of impactful work to be done on the tech side still, especially on the backend for aforementioned bugs and slowness. Worst: it’s hard to move fast for various reasons. Airbnb is a great place to work overall. Not everything is rosy though, but I personally like it here. NYC product team is for luxury Airbnb, which is probably the unit that’s most struggling and in need of help; it’s a double-edged sword as you can have a ton of impact, and it’s the one with backs against the wall.
How is traffic in cloud infra at Airbnb?
Airbnb uses aws and gcp?
I personally love it here. 40% of my team are ex g/fb and all are happy. I have been getting lots of interesting/impactful work and have grown a lot since I joined. Perks/pay/people are all excellent. Getting things done quickly can be difficult depending on your team. My team doesn't really have too many problems and moves relatively quickly. I've seen much worse at other companies in that regard.

Being at AirBnB...have you tried using their website lately 😬
Yeah. It's pretty good.
The website is so slow and buggy...
