This list is purely based off TC and has nothing to do with Prestige, WLB, perks, job security etc. The data points are for SWE generalists with 5+ YOE and gathered based on offers asked on Blind and levels.fyi

Also, if your company is in lower tier, don't be salty (especially Microsofties). Use this post as a datapoint to get your next offers.

      OP: You should not include stock growth. That is future forecasting and imperfect opinions, which is not the purpose of your study. Based on my multiple offers, Dropbox meets and can beat G/F. Otherwise good job on this analysis.

    You should also factor in yoe, Google & Amazon usually downlevel people, so with the same yoe you actually make the least at Google! And at Twitter, it's pretty common to see 20 something yo at L5 equivalent making 350k+ TC!

      Agree. This is not apple to apple comparison. The tiers should be measured by the net influx of people from one company to the other. e.g. for me with 3 YOE, G will def downlevel me with L4 300k while I am making 380k as a senior at Splunk. If I were to make the jump to G, then the prestige factor of G beats Splunk by 1 level + 80k. Then we can collect these data and average them out to make the ultimate list ranked by this prestige factors.
