I work in Oracle APEX and build entire applications including DB design. But I don’t really write code besides SQL. No JavaScript or html really. I just know how to work my tools well and work within plugins. Am I considered a Full-stack engineer? I’m a one man team. TC 90k Yoe 2
Depends. What’s your TC? 🤔 But actually, if you’re not writing code beyond SQL, no you are not full stack.
If you’re not utilizing plsql and so on your apex apps aren’t gonna be very comprehensive. Start writing some apis in plsql to validate data etc. Full stack would imply also the backend side like the Linux server, Webserver (tomcat?) etc at least in my understanding.
From what you wrote i think You are a DBA.
Thanks for the comments guys! I’d have to agree I’m more of a light app developer. So if I can get some PL/SQL validating work and learn the server side of things, then could I confidently call myself a full-stack engineer. Basically I’m also questioning the necessity to learn HTML or PHP or heavy JavaScript in order to be classified as a FS engineer
What does full stack mean to you? If you can’t do the front end, then you are not a full stack.
If you got to ask...
No, you are part-stack
No you are not, people call this a backend developer somewhere.
Are you trolling?
