I do moslty SQL data cleaning and building sql script to create reports YOE: 5+ TC $110k Jr. Analyst update.. location Bay Area and currently obtaining my M.S in Data Science in an online program
Prolly not for industry, but word of advice, get into tech sector if you want better pay. Pick up some coding and visualization, look up BI Engineer and Data Analyst comp online at tech firms. If you pass interviews you can likely get into 150k+ TC range. Assuming you're in the bay area
What online program are you enrolled in? Thoughts? I’ve considered grad school the last couple of months
University of the Pacific hybrid D.S science program. You meet in class every other Saturday for in person class and online evening classes on weekdays. They have a campus in Sacramento and San Francisco. There is also the UC Berkeley extension Data Science program
Same job, but I’m even more underpaid than you.. maybe time to quit lol
But you probably have lower cost of living, unless you're in Bay Area 😁
Do you use Tableau or any other BI tool? If so, you are underpaid. I was paid that 2 yrs in, you should get into consulting.
Nope I don’t use any BI tools. Most of my analysis is done in Excel. Do you think $120-$130 for a senior role is low?
With your YOE, I would go for $150k. If you learn how to use BI tools, you'll be worth much more.
Check out LeanTaaS, software company that optimizes hospital efficiency, we can always use analysts with SQL and healthcare experience. Total Comp should be at least 20% higher maybe more. Feel free to reach out
our HQ is in Santa Clara
Sector is notorious for low pay. Some of the biggest datasets and the lowest paid analysts. On par.
Hmmmmm for the YOE and location yet I believe you are underpaid man. I graduate in May from grad school I earn more than that not living in the bay . Learn couple more analytics and apply out there.
Would asking $150k+ for my next role as a senior analyst be too much on the same industry?
I don’t think so man you live in SF to be honest you deserve that .
Location?
Bay Area
