Am I overreacting?

I recently switched teams after being a high performing SDE 2 for 2 years in a row. The main reason for the switch was that I didn’t see any scope to move to the next level. Fast forward to the new team where I am asked to do at least long running operational tasks like running and monitoring data migration, writting generic auditors. I understand operations are important but I am the only one doing such long running campaigns. I raised my concerns and said that the multi tasking is taking a toll on me and was asked to change my attitude. I was recently given a ‘Think Big’ opportunity which I was able to deliver in 2 days. I’ve gone from being who represents the good about amazon to someone who can’t deliver results because of having to juggle tasks that were in no way challenging. I feel anger towards how I was treated and am completely burnt out and not being excited about work. Am I overreacting? Apologies for the long post YOE: 5 TC: 250k

I have similar issue. I chose to apply for an ICE role instead of a Manager's role. Unfortunately, the person who got hired is technically not sound and trying to make sure that I can't progress ahead of him in career.

It’s a big company. Make another switch.

To move to next level, you have to come up with tasks, especially for operational excellence. If you are still assigned tasks, that's L5 scope.

While L4s get to write code and I get 3 things simultaneously and told I need to change my attitude and not be burnt out? The tasks I do like data migration will in no way lead to any sort of excellence. I didn’t get to write the logic to port data, just run it :)

Go ahead and come up with something better than that and convince your team. Don't expect someone one to give you juicy tasks/projects and cruise to the next level. In my very own case, my promo portfolio was all the work I proposed that eventually fruited for me and for team.
