Hi guys. I want your opinion. Now I work in Chicago suburb, and I have 10+ years of experience as software developer, mainly as full-stack. My skills are: C#, .net Core/MVC, JavaScript and TypeScript, and other skills related to web dev (css, bootstrap, devexpress tools, etc), but no any experience with modern js frameworks like angular and react, and also I have a very good knowledge of T-SQL. My current TC is 100k. What can I count on?
Bay Area has new grads with no skills making 300k tc. The rent in the Bay Area is no more than 30k higher than your area. Do the math
To be totally honest, underpaid due to under skilled. Well knowing the latest frameworks aren’t always the best; hype pays
I'd say you're underpaid. Consider going to a local boutique consulting firm to try and up your salary. I'm 8 years exp and my base salary is about 150% of yours
Most downtown jobs with similar experience are in upwards of $150K base + stocks and bonus. What you already know has nothing to do with your salary. How well you can ramp up is what matters most.

$100k in Chicago is like $350 + in the Bay Area. You may actually be overpaid for Chicago suburbs.
Does that mean that 350k in Chicago would be like 1225k in the Bay Area?
Nah, the effect of real estate isn’t infinity. You should know better google.
