I’ve been in the market since Sept 2020 and on tour for ~30 townhomes/condos. There are a few i liked in MTV/SVL/Cupertino but didn’t end up making an offer because of street/car noise or train tracks in vicinity. They are still selling fast and i wonder I’m being too picky.
Only recently I feel somewhat okay with noise from freeway in MTV but i cant seem to compromise being close to train tracks. (Based on my experience, the house vibrated and I could hear horn sounds..)
I don’t feel comfortable buying a house over a million while not being able to enjoy the quiet surroundings in that expensive property. Am i not ready for the bay housing market? Am i too picky?
Living in the bay for 6+ years
Caveat: SFH may have better location in general but unfortunately i can’t afford SFH.
Edit: I think most of them are sound proof inside but i found them noisy outside (balcony/backyard). I personally still care the surrounding noise level even after i go back to the office.
