Amazon AWS PMT exit ops

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone knows or has left AWS as PMT and what ops they landed. Trying to get a flavor for what May be available down the road. Want to understand if it would be worthwhile to internal out of AWS to improve Future flexibility of opportunity in terms of remote/ location.

    Typical exits are to Azure and GCP in the same product family with a level promotion. Pay almost (but not quite) doubles. If you want an uplift in your exit, your product needs to be a hot product where GCP and Azure are lagging (which to be fair is quite a few products)

      Got it, makes sense. Have you heard of anything else outside of going to a cloud competitor? Figured there would be a path to competitors but wonder if having the AWS background may also be a good thing to have to jump to other technical PM roles focused on Infra/platform builds.

    How as a PM you move to any cloud service company. I have been after this since some time. Do not have any experience in Cloud tech at all, although have a technical background.

    Does Amazon allow their non-AWS PM/PMTs to move to AWS PMT? I mean you need to break in somehow to be able to crack GCP/Azure.

      So Op you did Masters in CS + MBA both to land the role as AWS PM? That’s a lot lol

      No MBA, I was able to get an internship at Amazon while working on MSCS. I mentioned the MBA part because that is how the role was marketed. However, it’s technically open for all Master students. The title said something like PMT-MBA Internship. I’d look at Georgia Tech’s online program, affordable and easy to pace.

      @Gking, maybe I could’ve, at the time I wasn’t actively recruiting and was already doing my masters online while working. Applied on a flyer/ pretty high % to convert to FT. Feel free to DM if you want a referral to C1 still know a lot of peeps. Unsure which location but Dallas office hiring like crazy
